I'm looking to remodel the downstairs cloakroom (1 m x 2 m), the master bathroom (2 m x 3 m), and the on-suite shower (3 m x 1.5m) in my house.
Ideally, I'd like to do all three bathrooms one after the other and as soon as possible. In order to be cautious, however, I think it's more prudent to sign contracts one-by-one: with these things one never knows what will happen to the budget.

In all three rooms, I'm roughly looking to do the following:
Downstairs loo The downstairs loo is 162 cm deep and 78 cm wide (95 cm into the washbasin alcove). It is currently carpeted, and it contains a loo with a cistern and a washbasin. There is a pull chord switch for a ceiling.

Family bathroom

The family bathroom is about 266 cm wide and 204 cm deep. In one corner there is an airing cupboard. There is a pull chord for a ceiling lamp, and the
ceiling is covered with artex. The toilet is mounted in front of panelling (which extends up to the window), presumably to cover the plumbing. There is an
alcove with a washbasin and there is panelling on the floor underneath. The floor is carpeted. The floor plan is shown below.

Hello,
Thank you for your enquiry. Please find attached estimate.
I am not really sure what kind of units you wish to have but I quoted for basic white painted MDF or so panels painted white. Or so position of suites will change in master bathroom that affected the price slightly. Due to few changes cost of materials and timeline has been affected. I hope you will find the attached estimate competitive.
I look forward hearing from you.

Hello,
This is indeed very competitive -- thank you for your quote! I would like to proceed with this quote. I guess it's best we handle this one-by-one. I'd like to start with the downstairs cloakroom, and if everything works well, I'll then do up the other two bathrooms.
Can you please inform me how we would proceed -- i.e., what the next step is?
I'm on holiday until 9th of January, so not much will happen before that. If someone needs to pop by to see the building site first, it would be really good if they could do it on the 11th of January, as I'll have to work from home on that day.
Perhaps it will be easier to discuss in person; I can give you a call if you wish.

Please find attached contract for works.
We must agree on dates, and then I'll fill in rest of builder details.
So please come back to me with dates which I'll discuss with builder.

Hello,
Thanks for the contract, I agree to it.
Regarding the dates, here is my proposal:
- survey of the works on 11th of January, upon which the builder will instruct me regarding what else to purchase (tiles, whether there are any requirements on the toilet and/or cistern, etc.)
- commencement of the works on Monday 7th of February.
Please let me know whether that's OK with you.
Regards,
....project will updated soon
